Description: Made in 1880 on a #2 frame, this important Parker hammer gun was made to order for Judge Gildersleeve and the order for it taken by Charles Parker as noted in the PGCA research letter. The gun was ordered as a $225 grade hammer gun (equivalenet to the B Grade) with 32" barrels, and the order calls for a "nice stock", very high rib, and chambered for 2-7/8" shells. The gun has a wedge fastened splinter forend, double triggers, fully checkered ball grip with gold oval, and skeleton buttplate. It is beautifully engraved which I believe is the work of Jacob Glahn. Engraved with rabbits on the right side which is quite beautiful and unusual! The gun remains in pleasing original condition being mechanically sound. Bores are good for a gun of this vintage minor pitting ahead of chambers and orange peel. Stocks are sound and original. Engraving is quite nice as seen in the photos. Comes with PGCA Research letter identifying the gun exactly as found today! Judge Gildersleeve can be googled with a significant history to be found. With modern dimensions, this gun is really quite a rarity! This gun is priced at $11,500 delivered to your door.
