Description:
"Dated 1830. Barrel has been shortened to 30" and this gun is approximately .69 caliber. This gun is interesting as the condition of the gun is not too bad except the metal which indicates very poor storage. The metal has heavy pitting throughout  and a natural brown patina on the metal. The stock is tacked in the butt stock area. The left hand side has geometric shapes and the right hand side has what appears to be a lizard. The tacks are square shanked and are of the period. This gun could very well be a period “Indian" used gun, but does not have the type of wear generally associated with Indian use. Very Neat Tacked US Model 1816!
