Description:
Serial #12346, .410 (3"), 22" barrel with a bright, excellent bore choked full. This is the H & R Folding shotgun Model No. 4, 3rd variation manufactured from 1937 to 1941. This neat little shotgun folds completely in half and features an automatic ejector. The gun is in excellent condition retaining virtually all of the original blue finish on the barrel with some very minor thinning near the breech. The frame retains about 90% contrasting cyanide color case-hardening mixing with a smooth pewter patina and showing a little minor scattered freckling. The top lever and triggerguard retain about 98% original blue and the left side of the frame is maker-marked along with "FOLDING" in large lettering. The smooth round knob pistolgrip walnut buttstock and forend remain in very good plus condition retaining about 92% original varnish which shows spots of minor flaking along with a few scattered light dings and handling marks. The black checkered H&R monogram hard rubber buttplate remains in excellent condition. Barrel lock-up is solid and the action seems to function well mechanically.
