Description:
Serial #9068, .32 RF, 5" octagon barrel with a very good bore that has dark spots of pitting at the breech. The barrel and cylinder of this revolver have mostly turned to lightly freckled pewter gray with mild pinprick pitting and small handling marks throughout. The frame retains about 75-80% original blue with fading along the edges, scattered surface blemishes, and some minor pinprick pitting on the sideplate. The barrel address is no longer visible, but the patent dates on the cylinder remain strong, and the cylinder and barrel are deeply stamped with London proofs. The frame, cylinder, and barrel have matching assembly numbers, and the lock-up is still fairly tight, although there is a small amount of lateral play in the barrel. The smooth rosewood grips are numbered to the gun and remain in good-very good condition retaining most of the original piano varnish with small handling marks throughout, and a few tiny chips along the butt. This is a good-near very good British-proofed S&W, and would make a nice representative example for a collection. Antique
