This is a very handsome little revolver that has matching assembly numbers on the barrel and cylinder, with the metal retaining 80-85% of the original, lightly tarnished silver finish that has faded to dull ochre brass along the edges, as well as on the toe and heel of the butt where the metal has rubbed against the case lining. About 70-75% of the original blue remains on the "WEBLEY & SONS" marked barrel, with gray fading at the muzzle, and on the high edges. Traces of original blue remain on the cylinder, with a mixture of gray and plum-brown mottling on the balance. The walnut grips are in fine shape with very few handling marks or blemishes in the original varnish. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is housed in a burled walnut, British case with blank, two-piece metal shield escutcheon and riband inlays on the lid, and a restored, blue baize interior. A cleaning rod, pewter oil bottle, and key are included. This is an excellent little S&W No. 1 analog, in a desirable British casing.
