c1877 .38 Caliber Small Form of the Russian!
Here we present an antique Smith & Wesson “Baby Russian” .38 S&W Single Action Revolver, made circa 1877 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Serial numbers range from 1 through to 25,548 between 1876 and 1877. It was made in the likeness of the famous No. 3 Russian also by S&W. Rather than a military sidearm, this was made for the armed citizen and was therefore large enough to effectively defend oneself though small enough to conceal and carry comfortably.
The overall condition is very fine. Original nickel finish with blued accents and case colors. The action is strong and tight all the way around. The bore is blindingly bright and in excellent shape. Both grips are firm with sharp checkering containing minimal handling wear. Matching numbers. Here is a pristine Baby Russian revolver to display and collect!
