Most of these copies are attributed to as ‘Chinese “ copies. They are usually characterized as having incredibly badly spelled wording an crudely done. This example is a better copy and has a Mauser Banner logo on the frame panel on the left side and marked “Brownings Patent" just below the Mauser Banner. The machining and finish work is fairly good. The grips are actually “FN" logo real grips made of horn. The grips have bug damage, probably roaches as roaches secret a saliva that they use to soften and deteriorate the horn an makes it easier to eat. Probably too much information but quite often encountered on antique shotguns and rifles with horn triggerguards. The action works perfectly. If you have a crude copy you might consider this one as a more refined example. SOLD |
