#26639, 300 H&H, Pre-64 Model 70 Barreled Action Custom Bolt Rifle, The action and barrel made by Winchester in 1940 in 300 H&H their "long" action, 26" Winchester factory barrel without open sights, There is a blank in both dovetails for the rear sight and the front sight, Model 70 wing safety, Model 70 trigger, Standard Model 70 floorplate with a custom trigger guard with a center bow release that is very well done, Zeiss 3.5 - 10 x 44 MC with a 1" tube, Redfield bases and rings, A nice custom stock that was not done by some amateur, It has a very nice piece of English Walnut, Excellent point pattern checkering, Shadowline cheekpiece, Rosewood forend tip, Rosewood grip cap with checkering, Sling eyes on the stock, 13 3/4" LOP over a Pre-64 checkered steel buttplate, 9 lbs. 7 oz., Very nice internal inletting, It is glass bedded 5" up the barrel channel ahead of the recoil lug, Glass bedded recoil lug, The bore is excellent plus, The fresh blue at 98%, The stock is at 92% with handling marks only, The checkering is at 100%, I can assure you this was not the stockers first attempt at custom stocking a bolt rifle. It has nice workmanship along with the checkering being very well cut and very professionally laid out.
