J.C. HIGGINS MODEL 50 FN MAUSER .35 WHELAN CAL. SPORTING RIFLE CA. 1950’S. 22” round barrel originally .30-06 cal. re-bored to the then very popular .35 Whelan cartridge and stamped at the left breech “35 WLN”. Original elevator rear and ramp front sights. Original fine quality F.N. Mauser 98 commercial action. Scope mount blocks added. Otherwise original Model 50. Very good overall with thinning original blue. Stock with the original lightly worn finish and original J.C. Higgins hard rubber butt plate. Very slight 1 ½” old hairline behind receiver tang. Perfect working order and excellent bore.
