Here is a clean William Davis ( W D ) ball mold,that is also marked IMPROVED No.16. And since the ball cavity is about .662,16 gauge seems right.It is also marked 444, which I believe indicates it was once serial numbered to a gun in a British case.The ball cavities are very nice.Rest of metal has aged patinia.Though the length of handles could be cleaned bright easily enough.William Davis was related to the Webley family through marriage.
