This Carbine's barrel date is 12-43 The carbine's serial number is 3176357. This carbine is in near new condition! It has all of the correct parts code for that serial range and year. The bore is in minty condition. This gun shows hardly any sign of being fired. The original metal finish is fully intact with no sign of wear. The blued bolt shows some light wear from working the bolt. The Receiver has the SG for Saginaw Gear stamped on the left lower side of the frame. Saginaw Gear produced some 60,000 receivers for Inland Division to help keep production rolling. This carbine's serial number falls in the correct range for having a SG receiver. This is a fairly rare feature to have. The trigger housing is properly marked for Inland as well as all of the internal parts. The stock has the ordnance wheel on the right side of the stock by the sling cut out. Inside of the sling well on the left side is the IO stamp. The hand guard is properly stamped IO. The stock and handguard have all of the original finish intact. The type one barrel band is marked UI and the sling mount is marked UI. It has the light khaki sling with the IS oiler. The magazine is KI coded. This is a exceptionally fine condition M1 Carbine with the very uncommon SG receiver. This carbine will certainly be a proud addition to any collection!
