Description:
This Charles Daly Model Diamond-Grade 12-gauge was manufactured by H.A. Lindner in Suhl, Germany circa 1900.  The Circasian walnut stock is stunningly beautiful, as are the extra-fine Bernard-steel barrels.  The engraving is pristine, with the game scenes on the bottom metal and trigger guard being especially attractive.  The LOP is 14-1/4-inches to the end of the original horn butt plate.  The DAC is 1-3/4 inches; the DAH is 2-3/4 inches; and the cast is neutral.  The bores of the 28-inch barrels are bright, and the exteriors of the barrels have a well-defined pattern and no pitting or dents.  The barrels have 2-5/8-inch chambers and cylinder chokes.  The bore diameters at 9 inches from the breech are both .718 inches.  The wall thicknesses of the right barrel at 9 inches from the muzzle are (top/side/bottom) .045/.042/.045, and in the middle of the barrel are .049/.045/.049.  The wall thicknesses of the left barrel are .050/.040/.045 and .052/.042/.044, respectively.  The gun weighs 6 pounds 14 ounces.  The triggers pull at 5 pounds.  The gun locks up tightly and all serial numbers, 307, match.

The price does not include shipping costs paid by buyer.  The inspection period is 7 days from receipt.  This shotgun has been fired on multiple occasions using low-pressure shells produced by RST Corporation for Damascus barreled shotguns.  However, as for any antique or vintage shotgun, and especially one hundred and twenty years old, it is recommended that the new owner have it inspected by his or her professional gunsmith before firing and then only use shells that produce pressures for which the gun was designed.  The gun carries a 30-day warranty, during which Doublegun Preservation, LLC will have any mechanical problems documented by a professional gunsmith repaired or accept the return of the gun and refund the price of the gun and all shipping costs.  Please do not hesitate to call with questions Stephen Wesbrook at 703-625-4830.
