Description:
Serial #683012, .38 S&W, 5 inch barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a handsome revolver that retains 95-97% of the original blue finish with silvering along the high edges and projections, some small scratches and handling marks (especially around a few of the cylinder flutes) and some mild fading along the backstrap. The cylinder has a mild turn-ring, the hammer has some minor freckling on the sides of the spur, and the mechanism is fully functional, although the slightly difficult to close, and the cylinder release has scratches on the face from forced closure. The left side of the frame has a deeply struck “D^D" Australian property stamp, with some further issue numbers stamped on the right side: “3 / 2485". The checkered walnut Colt medallion grips are in excellent, nearly new condition having very few handling marks and almost no flattening of the points. This is a very good-fine example of a WW2 Australian-issued Colt, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
