Description:
This is an early nicely engraved French pocket flintlock pistol about 53 caliber. It has the early cock so probably 1680s-1730s period. The lock is marked in fancy script and looks like T G or P G. The pistol is nicely engraved on the cock, lock, escutcheon, trigger guard, butt and top tang. The wood is chiseled and the mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. This is a real beauty to look at. The barrel top has some gold still remaining.
