W&C SCOTT Best Quality .577 BPE Rebounding Hammer Howdah Double Rifle with original 22 inch excellent bores that are bright from end to end. Three folding platinum line sights (100 YD., 150 YD., 200 YD.), Fading original case colors cover about 80% of the action and locks. Double locking under bites and dolls head rib extension add up to a strong action lock up. The cheekrest stock and forearm have fine checkering and are in excellent condition. The stock has a peaked butt plate and the forearm has a lever release. Barrel flats marked 25 (bore size for .577); chambers measured as .577 3-inch case; black powder proofed. LOP = 14 3/8". Weight just under 10 lbs. Serial number dates manufacture to early 1886. Excellent condition with perfect balance. Likely it has had minimal use. All Howdah rifles are rare, and to find one in this condition is very special indeed. Priced to sell at $12,900 (including shipping TYD).
