Description:
This is a beautiful all-original and 100% correct U.S. Military Colt Model 1911A1 made during WW2 in 1943. The original green-gray factory parkerized finish is beautiful, showing only a few tiny handling marks, a touch of high-edge wear in places, and the soldier's social security number scratched into the front grip strap. As you can see from the pictures, none of these deductions take much away from the extremely clean look of this 1911. The slide hardening lines are still nice and clear around the front 1/4 of the gun and the hold-open notch, and all of the small parts are original and show a consistent finish with the rest of the gun. The bore in this Colt is excellent and bright, with nice sharp rifling throughout. There is no visible pitting, erosion, or imperfections. The original blue finish on the factory barrel is very nice, showing only light wear consistent with a gun that has been carried and shot a few times but very well-cared for. The original factory grips on this Colt are in excellent condition, both sides free from any cracks, chips, or repairs. The checkering is still clean and crisp, and both grip panels are nice and tight to the gun. This 1911A1 comes with one original factory magazine which is unmarked and correct for an original WW2 Colt factory magazine. The action on this 1911A1 is slick and smooth, and the slide-to-frame fitment is excellent. All of the controls on this pistol are in perfect working order and we have no doubt that it will function just as well today as the day it left the factory. If you have been looking for a high-condition all-original World War 2 1911A1 for your collection, this 1943-production Colt would be an excellent choice and extremely hard to upgrade from.
