The bores are mint and free of any rust or dents and have 23/4" chambers. The barrels lock up to the action with no play and the top lever is still to the right. this gun has been well used over the years, but has been cared for. The receiver retains only traces of case color and the barrels retain around 60% of the original blue. All of the engraving is sharp and crisp and the screws are clean. The stock is sound with no cracks or damage. The stock finish has begun to craze due to age or exposure. The gun is built on a featherweight frame and weighs just 6-0. This was someone's bird gun in the past and it is ready for a new owner. It is a rare gun,but not a pristine collector piece. It would make a fantastic quail or grouse gun as it is now. It is also a prime candidate for restoration. Either way,it is a classic Smith upland bird gun.C&R eligible.
