What a beautiful little 16-gauge Model 21 Tournament Grade field gun we present here, built in 1934 and documented with a Cody Firearms Museum info letter.  This rare and desirable Model 21 matches the specifications in the letter with the exception of the buttstock.  This gun, sn8163, is in superb condition, having its metal and wood finishes completely restored some time in the past and still retaining 99% historically correct finishes on all metal, and the wood having only a few light handling marks.  Considering almost all Model 21 guns have been restored at one time or another (even though the seller insists the gun is “original”) finding a gun that still mostly matches the letter and looks nearly factory new is an event!  Most double gun enthusiasts are aware of the reputation earned by the Winchester Model 21; a gun of superior strength and mechanical genius created under the micro-management of John Olin himself.  Model 21 guns are fully capable of shooting the most powerful loads available, SO IF YOU LIKE MAGNUM LOADS FOR PHEASANTS, DUCKS, OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, THIS IS YOUR GUN.  From 1931 to 1943 Winchester only built 1063 Model 21 16ga. guns, most of them being Standard Grades.  Only a dozen or so were 16ga. Tournament Grade guns…they are THAT RARE.  This grade was only offered in 1934 and 1935 and is highly coveted by collectors and shooters alike. THIS IS A RARE FIND!  There are fakes out there with aftermarket stamps on the bottom of the receiver, so beware!  The only way to be sure is with factory records that document the gun as a Tournament Grade.  The Cody Firearms Museum info letter documenting this gun is included with the purchase.  HERE IS THE KICKER…THIS GUN SHIPPED WITH THE MOST DESIRABLE IC/M CHOKES, 28” BARRELS, DOUBLE TRIGGERS, EJECTORS, AND A SPLINTER FOREND.  FOR THE UPLAND HUNTER THIS IS THE HOLY GRAIL…A TRUE BIRD GUN THAT CAN HANDLE MAGNUM #4 SHOT FOR WILD, LATE SEASON PHEASANTS, OR #7 ½ SHOT LIGHT LOADS FOR QUAIL OR GROUSE.  There are even non-toxic loads for waterfowl.  IF you are a traditional double gun enthusiast you know how rare it is to find a Model 21 16ga. in this configuration.  The 28” barrels have perfect bores and are tight on the hinge pin and breech face like a new gun.  The mechanics are perfect, and the gun is ready for decades of use.  The buttstock was expertly replaced with a very nicely figured stock in the English style, perfectly mated to the action, with great dimensions and a fine leather covered pad, complete with a long-tang trigger guard.  We have priced the gun in consideration of the upgraded stock.  The gun is a lightweight in the world of Model 21’s weighing in at 6lbs. 11oz.  She mounts and swings lightning fast for your upland pursuits.  This is a rare opportunity to own a Tournament Grad in 16ga. that is the perfect gun for upland game and clay target games.  Call soon before your chance to own this perfect bird gun is gone.  Thanks for looking!
