Description:
For sale is used, exceptional 99+% condition BAR Grade V rifle chambered in .30-06 with 22 inch barrel. The Grade V Magnum rifles were only manufactured from 1971 to 1974, with this rifle being manufactured in 1972 (serial number 73228M72). This fine BAR features a tapered barrel, manufactured without sights. The left side near the breech is marked with the one line address over "MADE IN BELGIUM", and the caliber designation and "BROWNING PATENTS" are on the right side.
Each side of the receiver is engraved with scenes with four gold inlaid animals (antelope on left, whitetail deer on right) with a gold inlaid wire border. Surrounding the scenes is a floral vine design with a punch dot background. The same floral vine design is on the bottom of the magazine and trigger guard. The lower left side of the receiver is signed "F. PAUWELS". The top of the receiver has a matte finish and is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. The high gloss walnut forearm and stock wrist are finely checkered with relief carved floral vine designs. Sling swivel studs and a solid Browning recoil pad. Complete with a Browning box with matching serial number.
The action bar bolt has a tad bit of tarnish and there are one or two very, very diminutiive handling marks on the underside of the stock. For a gun built in 1972, this is as close to new as you will find.
