WIKIPEDIA: The Ruger Hawkeye is a single-shot pistol chambered for the .256 Winchester Magnum cartridge, produced by Sturm, Ruger & Co. from 1963 until July 1964. It was built on the same frame as the Ruger Blackhawk, but rather than having a rotating cylinder like a standard revolver, it featured a swiveling breechblock which allowed an individual round to be loaded and sealed into the frame.” The Ruger Hawkeye pistol was discontinued, after only 3,075 were produced.
The overall length of this gun is 14½ inches. The barrel length is 8½ inches. Its weight, with mounted scope is 3 pounds, 7.8 ounces. The trigger pull is about 1 pound, 5 ounces (as it came from the factory). However, a replacement hammer, trigger, and associated parts were purchased sometime ago to increase the pull weight and will be provided to the buyer at no cost. The gun is equipped with a M8-2X Leupold scope.
The overall condition of this gun is 98+ percent. The metal is flawless with two exceptions. 1) There is a tiny spot of muzzle wear on the left side of the muzzle, none of the right side. 2) There are some scratches on butt of the gun; they are visiable in one of the photos. The Ruger walnut grips are practically perfect, as well. You can see a couple tiny dents if you get it in the right light and at the right angle. I do not know how many rounds were fired through this pistol, but it was not many; I doubt even a box. Other than the the mounted Leopold scope, there are no box, papers, or other accessories with this gun.

The buyer pays $25 for USPS Priority mail and $37.25 for USPS insurance. Per the USPSsite, insurance is calculated at $9.70 for the first $600, and $1.45 for each $100 thereafter, rounded up.
The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash, and I will ship the gun immediately upon receipt. I will also accept a personal check and other types of money orders, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks. However, I will hold the gun until the check or money order clears my bank. Keep in mind that USPS money orders are limited to $1,000, so this purchase will require four USPS money orders. Check or money orders must be made out to Jerry Pownall.
