Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are rightfully proud to offer this very hard to find deluxe version of Winchester's model 1895. Featuring nicely figured checkered walnut and the takedown ability, this rifle is a standout among the workhorse '95's we usually see. They traveled the world on scores of hunting trips, and fought in several wars. This model gave Winchester's lever guns the ability to handle pointed high power cartridges without worry of inertia fire. The John Browning design incorporating a box magazine became the last major model in Winchester's lever guns. It allowed another step up in velocity and energy, always in demand by the shooting public. This one is chambered in the potent .35 WCF. Made in the year of our Lord 1928, she is in good condition for being 93 years old. The blue on the barrel is fairly strong, with some thinning at the muzzle. The receiver, made of different steel, has drifted to patina. The checkered walnut is very good, most proud to the receiver and checkered steel butt plate. The 24 inch bore of the stout barrel, never having to see black powder, is very good with plenty of shine and strong rifling. The action is smooth and crisp, working as designed, including the half cock safety. She breaks down in less than 10 seconds, and locks down tight just as quickly. The icing on the cake is an extremely rare Marble's folding peep sight designed specifically for the 1895. Luckily, the original owner didn't follow directions. Marble's actually called for a hole to be drilled into the upper tang, right through the Winchester 1895 stamping. It sits quite tight with one screw, and maintains the integrity of this special order rifle. These high powered Winchesters really hold their value, and deluxe versions take that to the extreme. If you have been looking for the right 1895 to collect, for investment, or for a classy hunt, but want the extra clout of a special order deluxe, then look no further.
