Description:
~Harrington & Richardson "Self Loading" .25ACP semi automatic pistol, dated between 1912-20, with a likelihood of being produced between 1912-16. This is a rather interesting example, with elements of both the 1st and 2nd variations of the gun present on this gun. The serial number is 11XXX, putting it right around the transition between the 1st and 2nd variations, and has 12 slide serrations on each side as the 1st variation should, however the markings on the right side of the slide have been adjusted to be in line with eachother, which is indicative of a 2nd variation pistol. The magazine also appears to be a 1st variation magazine. It's entirely possible that this is a "transitional" pistol that was made in the middle of the changes from 1st and 2nd variations, and ended up with some elements of both. Either way, it is very interesting and a scarce collectible! Some finish wear/loss is present, the left grip panel has a small chip in it (as shown) and the bore has some wear, however the action is smooth and the pistol operates as it should.
