Payment Types Accepted: Postal Money Order, Personal Check, Cashiers Check, Bank Money Order Description: This is an extremely low production carbine, considered by many to be experimental as so few were introduced. Barrel has offset rear sight. The breech block of the carbine is actuated by depressing a trigger under the stock that allows the block to raise exposing the chamber. The top of the breech block is marked “J. H. HALL / U.S. / 1839”. Hammer has bored hole at center. Wrist bolt on left side is the saddle ring and there was never a saddle ring on the lower tang. No inspector marks are observed on the example. The majority of the these Hall carbines were issued to the 2nd US Dragoons that were fighting in the Seminole-Indian War in Florida, This is a fantastic example of the scarce J H Hall carbine with the sought after and scarcer saddle ring staple in the stock. This example is much better then most you see, showing much of the original brown finish on the barrel. The breech is excellent and shows faint patterns of the case colors. The mechanics are excellent. The wood stock is fine condition showing the normal handling marks. Overall an excellent example of a scarce Pre Civil War era carbine. Shipping cost will be actual, buyer to pay actual and insurance cost. Thank you! Asking $4,750.00 Sale Pending SOLD Antique: Yes |
