Antique Lefaucheux Patent Double Action Pinfire Revolver, #147XXX, 12mm cal., blued 6-1/8” barrel with dovetailed front sight and right-side sliding ejector rod, is marked on top “Mazeau Pere & Fils A. Perigheux”, and “E. Lefaucheux / Invr. Brevete” on left flat; blued 6-shot round cylinder has an “ELG” (Liége, Belgium) and "(crown)/N" proof mark and is marked “Chandezon” on periphery; steel frame has a hinged right-side cartridge loading gate, separate loop trigger guard, and buttcap-mounted lanyard ring; checkered 2-pc. varnished walnut grips.
Condition is very good. Metal with moderate freckling; barrel retains approx. 30% deep glossy original blue, mostly underneath and on the octagonal lug; cylinder retains 75% toning blue; case hardened parts have silvered out. Grips show moderate age and wear, with a pleasing grain and color, approx. 60% finish remains. Action is strong and smooth; chambers and bore are clean, bore with a few spots of light pitting, rifling is very good+.
