"Colt 1902 Alaskan Model .45 LC caliber revolver. Made in 1900. .45 LC caliber. Nice sharp gun with original finish mixed with patina. Grips show a fair amount of use. Gun locks up tight and indexes properly. Bore is very good. The 1902’s were issued to the US government and have various inspector’s markings. They differed from the 1878’s by the enlarged trigger guards. Despite the collector’s term “Alaskan Model" these guns were not made for cold weather climates, they were issued entirely into the Philippines.
