This is the only site I use and do not plan to change. Description: This is an Original Sharps Model 1863 Percussion Carbine that used the paper cartridges and disk primers fed by the Lawrence primer feeding mechanism. It is in the original .52 caliber. This was one of the guns that were not converted by Springfield Armory to CF 50-70 in the later 1860's The 22 inch barrel is in very good condition with only a few light small spots of oxidation in the six grove bore a few inches in front of the chamber. The Lawrence feed mechanism is intact and appears to be fully functional as does the entire Carbine. The case colors on the action and buttplate are strong and all markings are sharp. There is one small crack in the bottom of the forearm on the bottom in front of the receiver. The barrel retains the majority of the factory blue. There are a minimum of scratches and dings in the wood. Please use the ZOOM feature to make your evaluation of the high condition Civil War era carbine. Antique, no paperwork required $60.00 Shipping in a hard case. SOLD Antique: Yes |
