Description:
This is a very cool little mini revolver made in 1972 by the predecessor of North American Arms, the Rocky Mountain Arms Corporation in Salt Lake City, Utah.  This tiny little single-action revolver is the Casull Model 22S based off of Casull's patent and features stainless steel construction,  a 1 & 1/8th inch barrel, a 5-shot unfluted cylinder, a push-button release cylinder pin, a small spur trigger, and smooth black plastic grips.  This tiny revolver measures 3.5" inches long, 2.25" inches tall (from top of hammer to bottom of grip), and is .75" inches wide at the widest point (cylinder).  It weighs in at a feather-light 4 ounces.  A unique feature of this early design is the bolt, which as you can see from the pictures is located on the left side at the top of the frame and uses a lug on the hammer to operate.  The hammer has 3 positions total, all the way down, one click back at the safety position, and full-cock.  To load or unload this little revolver you cock the hammer to the 1st click "safety" position, remove the cylinder pin by depressing the button on the end of it and the cylinder will fall out of the right side.  The cylinder pin can be used to punch out any stuck empty casings.  The cylinder can then be loaded fully and placed back into the gun and carried safely with the hammer in the safety position where the firing pin is not touching the cartridge.  The single-action operation of this mini revolver is smooth and positive, locking into battery in perfect time.  As this weapon is designed for up-close self-defense there are no sights, you just look down the top of the gun.  This example is serial number 1898 and remains in excellent condition both inside and out.  The stainless steel is bright and clean, showing only a few tiny little handling marks visible only under close inspection.  It is obvious that this Model A22S has lived a very easy life in storage, and might have been fired 3 or 4 times at the very most.  The bore in the 1 & 1/8th" inch barrel is mirror-bright and free from any damage or wear.  The rifling still looks brand new and the 5 chambers in the cylinder are equally as clean.  The factory gloss black plastic grips are in excellent condition as well, free from any wear, chips, cracks, or repairs.  Both grip panels are perfectly fit the grip frame and tight to the gun with no wiggle.  We have no doubt that this cool and unique little revolver will function just as reliably as the day it left the Salt Lake City factory over 48 years ago.  It comes complete with the original hard factory flip-top case which is covered in black velour material with molded red felt lined tray in the bottom and a white lining in the roof with the Rocky Mountain Arms Corp. Buffalo logo printed on it.  If you are a fan of the N.A.A. mini revolvers here is your chance to get one of the rare original models that started them all in investment-quality condition.
