BEASTIAL POMMEL .58 Caliber FLINTLOCK European Pistol Antique Elegant
Early 1800s Full Size FLINTLOCK Horse/Holster Pistol!
Here we present an antique European Flintlock Pistol, made circa the late-1700s or early 1800s. This is a full-sized fighting pistol with a 12 ¼ inch, part-octagonal, part-round barrel pinned to the stock. The pommel has a brass cap with a beastial face cast in. The trigger guard is also decorated with castings and includes an interesting symbol.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is bright and smooth. A lion style mask is cast into the pommel cap. Smooth and solid stock tipped with horn. The ramrod is a later replacement. This is a gorgeous pistol that would have been a formidable weapon in the age of single shot firearms.
