Description:
Winchester Model 70 Classic Featherweight Stainless custom sporter in .300 WSM. This great M70 is the perfect combination of great action, great caliber, great durability and great looking!
These were only offered in 2005 – 2006 and this one has evolved from the production with the addition of the gorgeous custom super-grade style stock. This is a “stout” piece of walnut that was designed for a right-hand shooter with palm swell and shadow line cheek piece. Glass bedded with double reinforcing recoil lugs and a free-floated 24” barrel; rosewood forearm tip and grip cap with fine checkering and carved borders. 14” LOP over a Pachmayr decelerator presentation recoil pad.
Also added custom is the polished bolt handle and safety shroud with engine turned bolt and extractor. Action has been lapped for smooth operation and the trigger has been “tuned” and trigger shoe added.
Mounted with a Leupold VX II 6-18x40 AO silver scope on two-piece Leupold base and rings.
With the “stout” wood and scope the outfit weighs 9 lbs. 6 oz. (not a featherweight anymore!)
