MAUSER KAR 98 MILITARY RIFLE SPORTERIZED 8MM 8X57 RIFLE. Serial number "88" being the only number on it(on floorplate) as well as WW1 Weimar eagles under bolt handle. Barrel still has original "790" caliber marking on top by receiver ring. Considered large receiver with slot cuts for stripper clip fed. WW2 period replacement laminate stock with barrel relief(floating) cuts and properly bedded as well as original sling cut(filled in) and stock bolt. Gunsmith just shaved down the stock from original Nazi era replacement. Blue Line red rubber pad still pliable. 13 1/4" LOP. Original barrel 22" with fixed rear sight. Original Mauser barrel markings under wood. Front ramp sight. Sling swivels. Crisp trigger and working order. Bolt with "S" stamp on it as well as Eagle(Imperial). Floorplate with same font matching serial number and Crown over "F" as well as two "Crown/3". Excellent bore and rifling. Someone made a usable deer rifle out of this 98 so no reason why it should not shoot straight and true.
