Description:
Winchester Model 97 12 Gauge, 28" Barrel, Modified Choke. Serial Number 1021503.
95% plus condition. The gun comes with the original box, correctly numbered to the gun with owners manual and hangtag. I cannot say whether the gun has ever been fired. It does appear that it may have been loaded as it appears that there are minor marks on the loading gate. I am certain that the slide has been worked due to minor markings on the slide and cylinder. Otherwise, the gun is in immaculate condition. The wood is 98%+.
I acquired the gun via an estate. The gun was in a safe, in the box, in the original wax paper and not put together. My best guess is that the former owner bought the gun, put it together, loaded it and perhaps fired it perhaps once or twice, took it back apart and put it in the box and put it away.
Anyone that deals in Model 97s knows that they are typically in very poor condition and it is extremely rare to find one in this condition with the original box.
