Description:
This is a very nice, all-original Remington Model 14R Carbine chambered in the obsolete .32 Remington cartridge.  Introduced in 1912 by Remington, the Model 14R Carbine remained in production until 1935.  It quickly proved to be an excellent weapon; very reliable, accurate, and fast-shooting in a compact package.  The pump-action repeating Model 14R Carbine features a gloss-blue factory finish, a 18.5" inch barrel with an integral front sight base and an adjustable rear open sight, an under-barrel 5-shot tube magazine with a spiral twist to allow pointed bullets, and a smooth straight-gripped American Walnut 2-piece stock set with a Remington UMC-branded buttplate.  This particular example was made in 1914 and is in great shape overall.  The original factory blue shows some wear and age but is still very attractive, and all of the factory stampings are crisp and clear.   The brass "cartridge bottom" inlay on the left side of the receiver is bright and in excellent condition stamped with "Rem-UMC" and "32 Rem".  The bore in this Remington is very good, showing nice rifling throughout the barrel and only a few tiny spots of light pitting.  The original stock set on this carbine is beautiful, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or major damage/dents.  It has been lightly sanded at some point but not to the point of being detrimental to the looks or function of the stock.  The grooved forearm is clean with nice deep grooves, and the original Remington UMC buttplate on the buttstock is is fully intact and in excellent shape overall.  The action on this Model 14R Carbine is slick and precise, with no sloppiness or grit.  It locks up into battery perfectly and the trigger breaks nicely without too much travel or weight.  All of the other controls on this carbine are in perfect working order as well, including the adjustable rear sight and bolt-mounted bolt-release button.  This Remington Model 14R Carbine would be an excellent addition to any gun collection and should continue to be an excellent long-term investment piece.
