Description:
This is a beautiful mint condition and unfired Astra Model A-100 pistol in .40 S&W caliber complete with the original box, shipping bag, and owner's manual. Imported from 1990 until 1997 by E.A.A., the Spanish-made Astra A-100 was the successor to the Astra A-90 and was offered in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. This DA/SA semi-automatic pistol featured a heavy-duty all-steel construction, a two-tone matte and gloss blue or chrome plated finish, a 3.7" inch barrel, adjustable combat/target factory sights, a decocking lever, checkered black plastic grips, and a high capacity double-stack magazine. Very similar to the Sig P228 or 226 in both appearance and function, the Astra A-100 was a superb buget-friendly range toy and self-defense/combat pistol. It proved to be very reliable and accurate with just about any factory loads in any of the 3 calibers offered. This particular example is chambered in .40 S&W and features the two-tone gloss and matte blue factory finish. As mentioned before, it is unfired since leaving the factory with the original owner purchasing the gun new and then putting it into storage until now. We had to wipe off the factory applied oil in order to photograph it. The finish is like-new and rates 99% plus, the bore is pristine, and the grips are perfect. The slide-to-frame fitment is excellent and the action is both smooth and precise. All of the controls are in like-new, perfect working order. This pistol should function just as perfectly today as the day it left the Astra factory 24 plus years ago. If you have been looking for an affordable but high-quality pistol for your collection this Astra A-100 would be an excellent choice. Chambered for the potent .40 S&W cartridge it has excellent "stopping power" and would make an excellent home or self defense gun in addition to being a lot of fun at the range or farm.
