REMINGTON, U.S. 1858 NEW MDL. ARMY, CAL. 44, SER. 17288, A VERY FINE EXAMPLE OF THIS ICONIC CIVIL WAR VETERAN. IT HAS RETAINED ABOUT 50+% OF THE ORIGINAL BLUE, THE LOSS IS MOSTLY DUE TO FADING, A LITTLE EDGE SILVERING AND A SMALL PATCH OF PIN PRICKS. THE BALANCE HAS AGED TO PLEASING SILVER BLUE PATINA. ALL PARTS MATCH AND HAVE THE PROPER INSPECTOR'S MARK. THE FRAME AND HAMMER HAVE ABOUT 45% OF THE ORIGNAL CASE COLOR. THE BRASS TRIGGER GUARD IS PERFECT AND IS ALSO AGED. THE WALNUT GRIPS HAVE RETAINED ABOUT 40% OF THE ORIGINAL LACQUER ARE IN NICE SHAPE. NO SPLITS JUST A DING ON THE RIGHT SIDE, HOWEVER THE BUTT SHOWS SEVERAL SURFACE DENTS. THE LEFT SIDE HAS THE INSPECTOR'S CARTOUCHE. THE NIPPLES, CYLINDER FACE, CHAMBERS AND FORCE CONE SHOW LITTLE IF ANY USE. THE BORE IS SUPER. MIRROR BRIGHT WITH VERY SHARP RIFLING AND SOME LIGHT SCATTERED FROST. FOR THE CRITICAL COLLECTOR WITH A LIMITED BUDGET THIS IS GREAT FIND. ONLY .....$1995.***
