Winchester 71, converted to 450 Alaskan, loads, feeds, and functions perfectly, works smooth as glass, 20" barrel, 16" twist, 1941 DOB. Comes with winchester delux swivels, Comes with 20 rds. of once fired brass, sized flaired and tumbled, 20 rds. of new brass formed, sized, flaired, tumbled, and ready to load. Bore is perfect. New decelerator recoil pad. I've hunted with one just like it for 56 years for elk in the brush, you never have to track one over 100 ft. and you usually have a blood trail you can follow on a Honda. You can shoot a bull running straight away from you and take all the plumbing off the top of the heart and leave an exit hole out of the brisket, and still not ruin any meat in the process. Vintage Lyman running deer sight, check Ebay for the cost of this old sight and get ready for sticker shock. The front sight ramp was silvered on before reboring. The sights are the correct height, should only need minor adjusting for 350 or 400 gr. bullets. The 404 Jeffery is famous as an African cartridge, check the ballistics and you'll see the 450 comes close to the same performance with the same weight bullets, with a lever gun you never hear of any one short stroking in a dangerous situation, I'd say that's a big plus for the old Winchester 71.
