Doppelbuschs-Drilling 8X57 double rifle over 16 gauge drilling in almost new condition, the checkering is very strong and points are not worn but the Schnabel forend does have a couple dings in it. The engraving on the metal is very sharp and all original and the bluing shows no wear except some discoloring on the floor plate, overall the metal and coloring is as good as you could expect from a gun produced around 1910. Dopplebusche drilling was made by one of Germany’s premier gunmakers who made fine guns until his death in 1924. Both barrels are marked 8x57R with all the extras, side clips, cocking indicators, claw mounts, top opening lever, cross bolt and side plates (I did not take the plates off but do not think it is a side lock). The wood has nice coloring and shows quality European walnut with steel butt plate and weighs 7# with 13 ¾ LOP. Double rifle drillings are hard to come especially in this condition and priced at $5450.00.
