Description:
A clean good working Springfield Krag bolt action 1896 carbine with a 22" barrel and a very clean shiny, rifled bore. The Arsenal American walnut stock is good with a very faint rectangular border proof on the left side but I can't see a date.Action is smooth and the exterior metal is mostly dark blue, with the exposed barrel length having pits and possilby applied cold blue, and the rfeceiver is clean and original shiny blue. The buttstock has the sling swivel plate removed and filled with correct walnut wood. I don;t see any cleaning rod chanel under the barrel which would indicate that the stock was a cut-down; Side of receiver states Model 1896 . Would make GOOD SHOOTER. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
