Description:
This fine ram-tod bayonet model 1884/1888 rifle has a super clean shiny, rifled bore 32 1/2" barrel . Action works weell and the exterior metal is blue /brown sight with pin prick piting in front and in back of the rear sight from beig carried by a sweaty hand . Most of these that come from this area were issued to volunteer troops from Connecticut and Massachusetts in the Span Am War. The action work well and the American black walnut stock is very good with professional period applied hand checking for firm grip on the wrist. SN 594165. Has a complete but aged leather sling, and gun should not be carried by the sling due to age. A number 11 is stamped just in front of the U.S buttplate tang. A large P proof on the underside of the wrist also.Overall would make a good black powder shooter. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
