Description:
General Specs: Winchester, Year c. 1948, .25-35 WCF, 6lbs 9oz, LOP 13"
Serial Number: 1580081

The Winchester Model 94 succeeded the famous Winchester Model 1894, the first lever rifle able to fire the high-pressure smokeless powder.  The Model 94 is the same rifle as the Model 1894 with a nomenclature change that occurred in 1920.  This rifle, Sn1580081 built in 1948, is CHAMBERED IN THE VERY RARE AND DESIRABLE .25-35 WINCHESTER CALIBER, WHICH COMPRISED ONLY 3% OF M94 PRODUCTION BETWEEN 1940 AND 1964.  The Blue Book of Gun Values adds 100% premium on a Model 94 Carbine in the .25-35 caliber as compared to the same carbine in .30-30 caliber.  This desirable pre-64 Winchester is in remarkable condition with 99% barrel blue, crisp lettering and stampings, 98% receiver blue with no flaking, and 99% factory finish remaining on the well figured wood.  It is considered an Eastern Carbine, which is the same as a Saddle Ring Carbine without the saddle ring.  Most pre-’64 rifles have been used hard.  Even if cared for they will show bluing loss on the barrel, receiver, lever, and loading gate. The wood gets dinged up and scratched from traversing thick woods and bouncing in pick-up trucks, so when you find a 73-year-old Winchester Model 94 in high original condition it is something to take note of.

This is an opportunity to own a factory original Winchester 94 Carbine in .25-35 Winchester caliber that is the most popular deer hunting rifle ever produced, with over 7 million rifles having left the factory overall.  The rifles made after 1964 are not the same rifle and do not carry the same values, as Winchester made changes in the post-1964 rifles to be able to build them cheaper.  The value is in the minty, high-condition pre-1964 carbines, especially in the soft recoiling .25-35 Winchester caliber!  This rifle is in superb mechanical condition with an excellent, mirror shiny bore and unaltered in any way since leaving the factory.   There are a few light handling marks in the wood.  There are no extra holes where an after-market sight may have been mounted.  The Winchester Model 94 is perfect for deer hunting in the wooded areas throughout the country and anywhere a compact rifle with a 20 barrel is warranted.  Weighing just 6 1/2lbs., she is balanced to perfection, making for a quick, accurate rifle.  Don’t miss out on your opportunity.  Thanks for looking!
