Description:
This is the No. 376 Machete from Collins & Co., Hartford, CT. It measures 26 ¾" overall with a curved 21 1/4" blade that has a rounded tip, in excellent condition with the early “Logo-Spanish" markings on the Ricasso and “S-3 21" on the reverse showing a square stain where a label had been removed. The machete features a swept steel cross guard (separated with a red felt washer ring) that is integral to the grip and pommel which has the red glass eyed “Gallo" (a fighting cock-rooster) also in excellent condition showing some light use marks on the grip scales. It comes in a fancy #5 leather scabbard with an embossed Collins & Co. Legitimus logo which remains in excellent condition with supple leather and sound stitching. A fantastic pre-1930's “Gallo" machete.
