Description:
Colt 1911A1 .45 acp WWII pistol. This US Army marked Colt was made in 1944, identified by the frame serial number. Everything appears to be current: trigger, the spring housing the grip safety, the slide stop all appears to be correct. The barrel is also correct and has a mirror bright/perfect bore.
The magazine has an “S” stamped on the lip which should be correct. The slide looks right. The barrel is a absolutely correct. Correct GHD (Guy H. Drewry inspector) on frame.
The only thing that I think is wrong is the right side grip which is correct period by wrong maker!
All in all, this 1911A1 is a nice example of a 1944 WWII pistol by Colt that is in 95% condition.
