We offer you a “GORGEOUS” Colt .357 Magnum Trooper Revolver that was manufactured in 1965 in the original box.
When Colt realized that the gun market wanted double action revolvers with adjustable sights they offered two new models with these desired features. They were the 357 Model and the Trooper. Colt offered the Trooper with a choice of service or target grips, this one wears the more desirable target grips as shown. All Trooper grips have the Silver Colt medallions, Gold being reserved for the Python. This older version used the same V-Spring actions as the Python, with forged & hand-fitted parts with a total cylinder lockup when the trigger is pulled fully to the rear.
The left side of the 4 inch barrel is marked “TROOPER .357 / .357 MAGNUM CTG.”, the right is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT U.S.A.”. The crane is marked with the serial number; 48007 which is found again on the crane flat. The left side plate has a crisp Rampant Colt, the left of the frame is marked “VP” in triangle and “V”. The gun shows very, very minor wear on the muzzle and leading edges of the cylinder. The bore and chambers are in excellent condition with no issues. The timing and lock up are excellent and the gun functions just fine. The box is in excellent condition with one corner showing wear and a split as shown. It the box is the factory “Handling the Handgun” flyer and complete warranty card. An excellent 55 year old package not seen that often anymore.
