Description:
Very interesting double 12 ga haammer shotgun, with Laminated Steel markings son the top barrel rib. The barrels are 30" long with moderate pitting after the chambers, remainder of the bores are much better. The exterior metal is smooth brownish color and the side lock plates are chisel engraved, and named : F. A Loomis, ans the water table has several Birmingham English proofs. Yop of barrel at the breech has stamped : 1-XL, No.9 , and chambered for rhe 2 9/16" shell. The chokes are : tight tube: .700" , and the ;left tube :.710". The English walnut stocks are good with the forend tip left side having a repair. LOP is about 14 3/4" . Butt-plate is complete and has a well exacuted game scene. Overall a colorfull hammer double shotgun of long ago. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
