Description:
Approximately 120,000 were made in Italy on contract for the Imperial Japanese Navy between 1938-1939. The Type 1 rifle is patterned after the Type 38 rifle and features a Carcano action with an Arisaka/Mauser magazine. Many of these rifles were captured in the Marshall Islands, The Philippines and on the Japanese home islands after the closing of hostilities after the war. The Type 1 rifle was never stamped with the chrysanthemum. 6.5 x 52 MM Rimless

Metal Condition: "Fair-Good, some parts retain their bluing while others have turned to a patina. Some rust is present on the inside of the trigger guard but no pitting is present.
Wood Condition: "Fair, many handling marks exist as well as a large crack in the stock starting at the butt.
Bore Condition: "Good, clean and shiny with worn rifling.
