BIRMINGHAM 12GA. HAMMER SIDELEVER SHOTGUN. Circa 1870-1880. Serial number "52XX" as it appears on barrels, forend and water table. 30" barrels choked skeet and Improved cylinder marked "Fine Laminated Steel" on top of swamped solid rib damascus steel barrels. Bores dark overall. Birmingham proofs as well as "T.B. & S.", "B" in a diamond and Crown over "B" are crisp so never refinished. Forend with original case colors and unturned screws. Forend wood excellent untouched but missing ebony accent tip. Solid buttstock with NO cracks and all wood accounted for. 13 3/4" length of pull over original plain steel buttplate. Crisp checkering matching forend. Excellent receiver with traces of original blue and no pitting or salt and pepper(nothing but patina so never been cleaned or refinished). Excellent original hammers and sidelever with excellent screws and original tension on all three. Unturned screws on upper and lower tangs. Surprisingly modern day dimensions for drop of stock so can be shot as is. VERY tight lockup so never shot very much and never seen shotgun so tight on face. Perfect working order. Would make a great Vintager gun. Double triggers. SOLD Antique: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 12 Gauge |
