PRE-WW2 SPRINGFIELD U.S. M1 OR M-1 GARAND .30-06 GAS TRAP 5 DIGIT SERIAL RANGE RIFLE MANUFACTURED IN MAY 1940. Serial number "39,6XX". Gas trap apparatus removed early in WW2 as were pretty much all M1's but someone rebuilt this this back to it's original "Gas Trap" configuration using new gas trap length barrel, gas trap apparatus and new match grade stock with "SA/SPG" and circle "P". Very good to fine condition overall with much original Parkerizing. All internal parts original to WW2 drawing numbers. Prime example using excellent quality original period early WW2 parts with brand new barrel to make a retro Pre-WW2 config M-1 Garand Gas Trap .30-06 rifle. Fun addition to WW2 collection not many can claim to have in theirs.
