VERY RARE COLT NEW POLICE COP & THUG .38 CF CAL. 4 ½” REVOLVER CIRCA 1884. 5 shot single action with “COP & THUG” factory hard rubber grips. Only about 4000 manufactured and are rarely seen for sale. Very good and all original as re-nickel plated during it’s period of primary use. Two-line Colt Hartford barrel address. Nickel with light wear and a few small spots of flaking at muzzle and on hammer. Back strap stamped with old police department rack number (1726). Grips with moderate wear. Working order and good bore. Seldom seen for sale.
