Description:
This is a scarce Second Series Remington Model 700 BDL bolt action rifle in the hard to find 6MM Rem caliber with 22" barrel and the really nice ribbon style checkering along with the black fore end and grip cap, both with white line spacers, open sights, and factory sling swivel studs. The 22" rilfe was standard after 1964. This one has an "AS" date code for April 1969, and thus qualifies as a Curio & Relic (at least 50 years old and having features no longer produced/collector value). The original factory open sights are still installed, the original ramped front sight retains its hood, and the factory holes in the receiver for the scope blocks are plugged with the correct screws. 5 shot total capability.
CONDITION: All the blued surfaces retain 98% original blue with no usage markes. All markings are clear. Stock is in great shape with no extra holes, never sanded or refinished. The original aluminum factory butt plate remains. Excellent bright shiny bore. Crisp action with properly functioning safety and floor plate release. Bolt is number-matched to the gun. Grades NRA Modern Excellent. With the Remington factory in Ilion (about 45 minutes from my house) permanently closed, these older Remington firearms are quickly going up in value and becoming collectors prizes, so don't miss out on this piece of American gun-making history!
