Description:
Late WW II Winchester Model 12 Trench Shotgun. Made at the very end of the Model Twelve Contracts in WW II it is all correct and in near new condition! The finish is the original Winchester late war Parkerizing. There is the usual mix of blued small parts and screws.The metal is the Latel Rough Finish which is typical.The serial number is 1035032 which puts it near the end of production within the parkerized finish range.
The receiver has the US and Ordinance Bomb on the right side. The hardened area "the thumb print" is clearly visible on the right side, below the ejection port of the receiver. There is also the hardened area on the top of the receiver. Both area's are correct as the finish is typically thinner in these two spots.
The stock is a beautiful dark oiled walnut with the inspection cartouche of Colonel Guy H Drewry and Ordinance Escutcheon Cartouche on the left side . It has the correct Winchester Black Plastic Buttplate. The barrel is marked with the Winchester Proof and Ordinance Bomb. The Winchester legend is on the left side of the barrel. The barrel is dated "43" .
The hanguard is the later 4 Row version, Parkerized with the "W" marked on the left side. The sling is kaki and marked 1943 SM co. Any questions please ask!
