In the years prior to WWI most hunting was done with lever action rifles, holding their rounds in a tube. The Savage 1899 held a distinct advantage over other period guns as it utilized a rotary magazine, allowing shooters to use the more powerful high velocity pointed bullets for faster and flatter shots.
Built in 1912 and chambered in .22 Savage High Power, this 1899H features controlled feed, remaining rounds counter, great safety mechanisms with loaded chamber indicator, a locked lever and locked action, a fine Schabel forend and to cap it all is in takedown configuration.
Weighing in at a easy to carry 6lb 11oz this gun is ready for the hunt, 99% factory blue and 96% lever case color, superb fit and finish this gun shows very light use and will look great either in the field or at the range, enjoy.
